When old Johnson kicked George in the toe It was a strike both high minded and low, So the death blow Geoge took -- an idea in a book -- Was cause for both celebration and woe!
Very nice. I would change the "It was" to "Twas", in order to keep the meter (three anapests: ta-ta-TA, ta-ta-TA, ta-ta-TA). The last line has one syllable too many. I'm not quite sure how to fix it. :-)
